  • Riesa Repress!

    Riesa Repress!

Prevent AfD Party Day – 11.01.24.

Already at the last party day of the AfD in Essen, the repression alliance with hundreds of people from Freiburg and the surrounding area went to Essen. There were 7000 people who tried to prevent Party Day.

You can find more information about contradictions here: https://respond.com

The next Federal Party Day of the AfD has now been postponed to 11.01 and will take place in Riesa. Now that he has slipped so close to the future, it is all the more important to go there with many people in order to prevent or at least put an important sign.

Join? For example, look past the 18th of the House of Youth.

Sara Fromm (workshop employee and activist) on her recently published book:

Climate crisis. Right. Upgrade. Crisis, as far as the eye is concerned. And it just seems to be getting worse. Last year, when I was asked by the Löwenzahn Verlag whether I would like to write a book on the topic of "climate crisis and work" I thought: exciting topic – but what it really needs is, above all, practical action to advance the urgently necessary social changes. Individual changes in consumption or behaviour are not sufficient. What we need to do instead – and the workshop has been supporting for 50 years – is political action. To act together, to organize us and to empower ourselves in the end. And the whole thing as strategic as possible. During my time as managing director at the workshop, I was also able to learn a lot as a freelance employee. And that's why I'd rather write a book about it, hoping that there is courage and confidence – and moving people to action.

If we don't change anything, nothing changes: Let's take things (again) in our hands

"Can be better": That's what's happening in the world. Whether it is the results of polls, the elections themselves or the latest climate reports – it is only certain that everything has become somehow insecure. So basically walked already? Not: Now it's just right important to get into action. Because to be heard, we have to be loud. (Common) protest can help we feel strong and less alone – and that lets us continue.

We need action approaches – not yet a problem analysis
Fact is: The concern for climate, legal jerk in society etc. is more than justified. But if we focus only on it, the impression quickly arises that we need to solve all problems on our own. Just as important as the problem consciousness is therefore also the confidence that something can move. Sara Fromm, instead of the many global crises itself, is pushing Opportunities for crisis management in focus: How can we civil disobedience practice, connect us, our own role and be solid? And: What can we learn from social movements from the past? Finally, there are many examples of organised protests, which have actively promoted a positive change, including the U.S. civil rights movement, the suffrage or also Ni una menos and the ProChoice movement in Argentina.

  • The workshop actively against the right

The workshop actively against the right

The election results in several federal states are terrifying and with the upcoming Bundestag elections, many people are just worried about the influx of the right-wing parties in Germany and Europe – and their corresponding consequences. Where for a long time only small anti-fascist groups had a look at the Nazi scene, there were again broad social alliances this summer.

Also as a workshop we made ourselves strong this summer with many other organizations against the right jolt. Whether in the support of freshly organized groups, action preparation of civilian disobedience against the AfD Party Day in Essen, argumentation trainings against parent table paroles or the strengths of groups against attacks from the right spectrum.

We also wish to continue and in the long term to oppose the strengthening of the right in Germany and to be able to support social movements in it in the long term and in a sustainable manner – for our utopia of freedom of violence.

  • The workshop on the action camp against Tesla

The workshop on the action camp against Tesla

Why do we have to stop Tesla?

    • The water of the drinking water protection area comes from the tap in parts of Berlin. Pollution is pre-programmed and no longer to be reversed as soon as the production poisons are once thickened in the soil.
    • Over 100ha forest is to go into the hands of Elon Musk and be sealed.
    • A continuation of the car-based traffic will create dependencies over decades.
    • The enormous lithium requirement creates global dependencies and destroys the livelihoods of people in Argentina, Chile, Congo and elsewhere.

    The Camp

With several thousand people we met at the Festwiese in Grünheide and enjoyed a self-managed camp in wonderfully warm weather, a creative workshop and cultural program, as well as a good mood.

    The workshop was there

    Actions

The protest was loud, colorful, disobedient and full of successes. Whether sitting, gluing, hanging, cycling, or walking – the actions were diverse.

    Donations for the Camp

The Water Forest Justice Camp would not have been possible without the many helping people!

But it is also necessary to cover costs for tents, transport, technology, food, etc.
The camp is looking forward to any small or large donation:
