9% of the global CO2 climate balance is caused by the cement industry. "Heidelberg Materials" formerly "Heidelberg Cement" are a global player with a turnover of about 25 000 billion – increasing. The cement industry is also active in the Global South with massive human rights violations and environmental destruction. In Heidelberg is currently running the End Cement campaign www.end-cement.earth.de
The two activists Darya from Fridays for Future and David from Exctinction Rebellion have been active in the climate movement for years. They report on the campaign and how the campaign is integrated into the nationwide climate movement.
