Lützerath – For climate justice on the move

5–7 minutes

Our All Camp

Forms of action

Violence

In the evening in the news, the first reports from the Großdemo whispered over the screen. The use of violence has been shown and discussed in the next few days.

In the UAC and in the actions, my impression was that astonishingly many people who spoke out for nonviolent actions were found. During my training sessions, the discussions on the concept of 'freedom of administration' were much less controversial than in many other camps in recent years.

Lützerath lives

Of course, this kind of 'sport reporting' is mainly based on spectacular forms of action and police manoeuvres, less on political content and the question of 'why'. Nevertheless, this report creates awareness of the struggles and spaces for discussion – in talk shows, but also at home at the kitchen table. That is why the actions around the clearing of Lützerath in my eyes were a partial success despite all frustration. For: "Lützerath lives." Still. Despite clearing, despite destruction. The fight for climate justice continues. And we're gonna stay there as a workshop.
