Anti-Atom Action: Warning blockade "Runterfahr" at AKW Neckarwestheim
Around 100 people blocked on Saturday, 26. November the main gate of the nuclear power plant Neckarwestheim. The activities of the "re-driving" campaign made a clear sign of the continued operation of the German nuclear power plants. They also announce further actions to civil disobedience in the event that long term extensions should be discussed at the beginning of next year. Despite high police presence, the blockade went peacefully and was accompanied by music, among other things by the "living leach". After two hours, the assets released the warning blockade voluntarily.
On 11 November, the Bundestag had agreed to longer AKW schedules. The three nuclear power plants Neckarwestheim, Isar II and Emsland will continue to operate until 15.4.2023. The seat blockade in front of the Neckarwestheim AKW is embedded in a wider campaign against the continued operation of the German nuclear power plants.
