Wednesday, 13. A further workshop was held in April 2022 within the online seminar series "moving movements".

Uli Wohland (Chairman and freelance staff of the workshop) and participants in interesting discussions.

Significant positive political changes could often be enforced through movements and networks. In his lecture, Uli Wohland explained this in particular on the basis of the work of Ella Josephine Baker. Within the Civil-Rights movement in America, Baker together with Martin Luther King was able to make essential changes through the Organize "from below" (bottom up).

Large demonstrations that took place, for example, in recent years by the Fridays For Future movement show particularly good how people can be mobilized within a short time. Organizing continues to take a step and tries to find ways to make directly affected persons capable of acting in order to ultimately exert pressure on politics. Action forms can be from community work within the individual quarters to small or large protests, nationwide or transnational.

The instruments vary greatly, but the goal is always the same:

Make visible, build pressure and influence decisions.

In addition, organizing is also to "Movement Cycle" breaking through by creating a disillusionment from a classic "Honey Moon Phase" during the formation of the group processes and initial action plans, which does not strengthen the feeling of being self-effective and becoming ever more difficult.

The seminar series deals with current topics of different social movements. It provides space for strategic, cross-movement exchange and joint development of practical ideas for action for more successful movements. The aim is to return the results and discussions to their own movements.

The seminar series is aimed at activists: in all emancipatory social movements and interested people who want to get in touch with the topics.
