Civil disobedience 2.0 – Do we have to go one step further?
In our first online seminar ‘Moving movements – strategic exchange on moving current topics" on 11 November 2021, we invited activists and interested parties to reflect on this topic across the movement and groups, without a plenary-time pressure, in order to get to know many perspectives and to be able to make better strategic decisions later.
At our first meeting we discussed together with 25 participants and, due to the great interest, spontaneously held an additional date in which 40 other participants took part on 1 December.
After a short input by Laura Plönnigs (workshop and climate activist), the participants discussed in a clear-cut space. They represented concepts such as the "satisfied sabotage" / "disassembly with dignity", exchanged themselves to chances and dangers of an extended term of civil disobedience and wondered whether there might be other possibilities available.
